What is BHRT?
BHRT stands for: Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy
BHRT is administered in pellet form. It is a safe, easy and virtually painless process that is helping people all over the world regain their strength, achieve better focus, enhance sexual function and diminish anxiety while balancing their immune systems and their lives.
What are Bio-Identical Hormone Pellets?
Our bodies naturally produce hormones to regulate incredibly complex processes on a daily basis. As we age, our hormone levels may start fluctuating. For women, the start of perimenopause can cause estrogen levels to plummet. Testosterone tends to drop significantly in men, which can affect everything from your waistline to your hairline.
Think of bio-identical hormone pellets as a way to rebalance your hormones so you can restore your quality of life.Don’t let the size fool you. Bio-identical hormone pellets are tiny, about the size of Tic- Tac to be exact, but they are incredibly effective at stabilizing hormone levels in men and women. They have the same exact chemical structure as the hormones your body naturally produces. Each pellet is specially designed for easy absorption. It’s not a magic wand. It’s more like the modern-day, real-life solution for any one still searching for the “fountain of youth.”
Researchers found that inconsistent or fluctuating hormone levels can exacerbate your symptoms. Pellets are specially designed to consistently deliver the optimal level of hormones for you. That means no more ups and downs! Without a doubt, there is no hormone method delivery more convenient then pellets. All it takes is one visit and then you can have months of relief. How long will depend on a few factors like age, gender, medical history etc.; on average, they will last for 3—4 months for women and 4-5 months for men.
What is the Difference with
The key difference between the hormones your body naturally produces, and non-bio-identical hormones, is actually invisible to the naked eye. You would need a microscope powerful enough to see and compare each hormone. In some ways, both bio-identical and non-bio-identical hormones work like a lock and a key. The hormones, or keys, interact with special cells, locks, in order to keep everything running smoothly. Non-bio-identical hormones are keys that are just shaped differently than bio identical hormones. It’s essentially the equivalent of you using your car key to get into your front door. It’s close, but not close enough. Because our cells and non-bio-identical hormones aren’t a perfect match, it throws everything off. Even though the structural differences are microscopic, they can cause a myriad negative side effects and health risks.

What is the goal of bio-identical hormone therapy?
Our primary goal is to restore your natural balance by replacing depleted hormones. We want YOU to get back to enjoying YOU. It’s a quick fix. It’s a process. But it works.
Alleviate Symptoms: You deserve a good night’s sleep; no more hot flashes, night sweats or insomnia. Feeling a little bit more moody or irritable? Hormones can even affect mood and make you feel more anxious. Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy can also counteract a decreased libido and sexual intimacy.
Boost Natural Defenses: Hormones are also a part of your body’s natural defense forces against disease and premature aging. Because BHRT replenishes necessary hormones it can help maintain strong bones, and a healthy heart.
Reverse Age-Related Diseases: Aging affects us all! Bio-identical hormone replacement theory can help you win the fight against heart disease, stroke, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease. Women entering menopause are especially vulnerable to developing osteoporosis. Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy is a way to make sure you get the best out of your golden years!
Why choose BHRT pellets?
We all need adequate hormone levels for optimal mental and physical health. Any time our levels start to fluctuate, we can experience a wide range of embarrassing and uncomfortable symptoms. That’s one reason why men and women have been choosing Bioidentical hormone therapy pellets since the 1930s.
Short answer: people want their lives back!
Bioidentical Hormone therapy pellets offer menopausal relief for even the most stubborn symptoms. After all, menopause not only messes with your mood and your sleep, it also impacts your sex drive, libido, vaginal dryness, sexual response and performance. Pellets with testosterone are incredibly effective at treating migraine and menstrual headaches. They can even help with common bladder issues i.e. incontinence, urinary urgency and frequency.
They aren’t just a good option for women going through menopause. Bioidentical hormone therapy has been proven to relieve anxiety and depression, as well as improve memory and concentration for both sexes. Also, who doesn’t want to feel stronger and look leaner? Pellets can increase your performance in the gym as well as melt stubborn fat!
Safe: Not all hormone replacement therapy treatment options are created equally! For instance, some conventional and synthetic solutions actually increase the risk of blood clots! Luckily, with bioidentical hormone therapy pellets, you’re safe. Not only is there no increase risk in blood clots; pellets have even been proven to protect your mind from the onset of several chronic age-related illnesses like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.
How are BHRT Pellets Administered?
- It’s normal to feel nervous your first time, but there’s absolutely nothing to worry about. The entire process is quick and painless and will be over before you know it.
- Tiny Tic- Tac sized pellets are inserted in your ‘love handle’ or upper buttocks through a small incision while under local anesthesia. Because the pellets are “time-released” they’ll stay in your body for 3-5 months; gradually releasing a steady flow of hormones.
- You don’t even have to swallow the pellets! Fun Fact: You should never swallow bioidentical estrogen or testosterone. Our digestive system makes them inactive.
What Hormones are Used
- Testosterone: It’s a myth that there are “men hormones” and “women hormones.” Take testosterone, for example. We all create and use testosterone, there are just a few noticeable differences.
- We both produce testosterone in our adrenal glands; however, over-all men create more testosterone in their testicles than women do in their ovaries. When it comes down to it, women also require a lot less of it than men! Because the pellets are “time-released” they’ll stay in your body for 3-5 months; gradually releasing a steady flow of hormones.
- Did you know testosterone is one of the key elements our bodies use for producing insulin? The cells engineer estrogen by converting testosterone through a process called, “aromatase.”
“My experience with hormone replacement pellets has been nothing short of miraculous! At 53, and postmenopausal, taking estrogen and progesterone did absolutely nothing to improve my libido. As a newlywed, my lack of desire became very frustrating.
In September 2019, I elected to get hormone replacement pellets at Buckhead Plastic Surgery, Dr. Alan Larsen. My results a month later are remarkable! I sleep better, my libido has increased, my energy level has improved, and my cognitive functions have improved.
I HIGHLY recommend hormone replacement pellets!”

Why Do We all Need Testosterone?
Think of Testosterone as the hormone in charge of looking and feeling strong and staying young. It increases lean muscle mass, strength and endurance so you can blast the fat away. It can even solve issues in the bedroom. Testosterone regulates libido and sexual performance for men and women. It’s is also your body’s natural defense against cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, and high cholesterol.
Do We All Need to Take Estrogen?
Although commonly thought of as a “women” hormone, everyone needs estrogen to function properly. In fact, we have three main types of estrogen, estrone (E1), estradiol (E2) and estriol (E3) all working together. While it’s a part of our first line of defense against heart disease, stroke and osteoporosis, estrogen also helps protect us from Alzheimer’s disease, and other memory disorders.
Are there any Side Effects?
Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy has side effects just like any other medical procedure. If you experience slight bruising, or discoloration of the skin around the incision, that’s completely normal!
Realistically, the experience of the health care professional plays a massive role in the overall success of your procedure and certain side effects. For instance, while inserting the pellet you could experience minor bleeding or bruising, discoloration of the skin, and infection and extrusion (pellet working its way out). Even then, these complications are rare.
Women: While incredibly effective, testosterone will NOT make women “grow a penis” no matter how large the dose. That’s just a silly myth. It would also take incredibly high levels of testosterone before affecting a woman’s voice. Testosterone may, however, cause a slight increase in facial hair in some women. In those cases, we just readjust the hormone levels.
Men: Because testosterone stimulates the bone marrow and increases the production of red blood cells, bio-identical hormone therapy may result in a rise in red blood cells. If the hemoglobin and hematocrit (blood count) get too high, a unit of blood may be donated to restore balance.
Is Hair Loss an Issue?
Many men and women do not know that hormone deficiency is a common cause of thinning hair. But it has been found in many cases that bio-identical hormone therapy pellets with testosterone implants can help to re-grow hair.
Overtime, happy clients noticed their hair became thicker and more moisturized.
When will You Notice the Results?
Results can be seen, and felt, immediately after the first treatment. However, to experience the full benefits of ThermiVa, it is recommended that you receive at least three treatments. These sessions are spaced out over a few months, one session a month is the typical treatment route.
Similar to pain tolerance, every woman experiences results at different rates and different amounts. Where you are before you begin your treatments is a good way to determine your possible results, but the most important factor is how your body responds to the radiofrequency treatment.
How Long Does BHRT Last?
- Women can expect the bioidentical hormone therapy pellets to last anywhere from 3-4 months.
- Men can expect the bioidentical hormone therapy pellets to last anywhere from pellets can last 4-5 months.
- The best part is, you don’t have to make another appointment to remove them! They completely dissolve on their own.
How much do pellets cost?
Women can expect to spend $500 for insertion but the procedure costs $1000 for men. Why? Men need much larger doses of hormones than women. The final price tag will also depend on factors like how many sessions we schedule and how quickly the pellets are metabolized. Typically, pellets need to be inserted about 3 to 4 times a year. All in all, bio-identical hormone therapy, is incredibly affordable, especially when compared with other options. Call the office for more details about payment options.
