Are there any Side Effects?
Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy has side effects just like any other medical procedure. If you experience slight bruising, or discoloration of the skin around the incision, that’s completely normal!
Realistically, the experience of the health care professional plays a massive role in the overall success of your procedure and certain side effects. For instance, while inserting the pellet you could experience minor bleeding or bruising, discoloration of the skin, and infection and extrusion (pellet working its way out). Even then, these complications are rare.
Women: While incredibly effective, testosterone will NOT make women “grow a penis” no matter how large the dose. That’s just a silly myth. It would also take incredibly high levels of testosterone before affecting a woman’s voice. Testosterone may, however, cause a slight increase in facial hair in some women. In those cases, we just readjust the hormone levels.
Men: Because testosterone stimulates the bone marrow and increases the production of red blood cells, bio-identical hormone therapy may result in a rise in red blood cells. If the hemoglobin and hematocrit (blood count) get too high, a unit of blood may be donated to restore balance.
Is Hair Loss an Issue?
Many men and women do not know that hormone deficiency is a common cause of thinning hair. But it has been found in many cases that bio-identical hormone therapy pellets with testosterone implants can help to re-grow hair.
Overtime, happy clients noticed their hair became thicker and more moisturized.
