Feel GREAT Again
Bioidentical Hormone Optimization
Bioidentical Hormone Optimization
As a part of the normal aging process, both women and men experience hormonal changes over time. The amount of hormones such as estrogen and testosterone naturally decline, which can result in a variety of imbalanced symptoms.
Bioidentical Hormone Optimization focuses on restoring the imbalances caused by the natural aging process and helping to balance hormones to allow you to feel your best. Using Biote’s method of hormone optimization, bioidentical hormones work alongside your body’s chemistry by closely replicating the molecular structure of hormones that naturally occur in your body.
Why Hormone Optimization Matters
Changes in hormones affect every person individually, resulting in a wide range of symptoms. Although it is normal to experience a loss of hormones with age, even small hormonal imbalances can throw your body’s organ systems out of whack. Hormonal imbalances in the bloodstream (having too much or too little of a certain hormone) can impact your quality of life.
Symptoms of Hormonal Imbalances in Men and Women
Common symptoms of hormonal imbalances in women include fatigue, night sweats, trouble sleeping, hot flashes, decreased sex drive, and trouble sleeping. Men often experience different hormonal imbalance symptoms, such as loss of muscle mass, elevated blood sugar levels, stress, or brain fog. These uncomfortable symptoms can keep you from living your best life – but they don’t have to. With the support of Bioidentical Hormone Optimization, you can return to feeling your best.
Benefits of Optimizing Your Hormones
Balancing your hormones through Bioidentical Hormone Optimization can help you find your peace, feel like yourself again, and feel younger and happier. Research shows that pellet therapy for hormone balancing can help many people feel their best. Optimizing your hormone levels can help target:
- Decreased bone density
- Poor heart health
- Abnormal breast or prostate health
- Reduced energy levels
- Reduced sex drive
- Decreased memory or cognitive function
What to Expect with Bioidentical Hormone Optimization
Our team of knowledgeable and experienced staff at LUX Med Spa is here to guide you through the journey of optimizing your hormones. As a Biote Certified Provider, we know the ins and outs of Bioidentical Hormone Optimization – allowing us to create a custom-curated treatment plan to help target your symptoms.
The first step in the process is to schedule a consultation with LUX Med Spa. During this visit, we’ll find out more about what you are experiencing and test your current hormone levels to use as a baseline. Some common tests we may run include Vitamin D levels, thyroid hormones, and specific hormone tests. Gathering this information helps us identify where your hormonal imbalance symptoms may stem from. Additionally, the results of these lab tests help us confirm your eligibility for Biote Bioidentical Hormone Optimization.
Once we have the results from your lab testing, a follow-up appointment is scheduled to go over the findings. If we determine you are a candidate, we begin to craft a treatment plan so you begin your Bioidentical Hormone Optimization journey.
What is Biote Pellet Therapy?
Pellet therapy is a type of treatment designed to help optimize your hormones in the form of subcutaneous pellets. Ideal for either men or women, these pellets are inserted into the upper buttocks by a trained Biote professional. Each pellet contains a customized dose of bioidentical hormones designed to balance out your hormones based on your lab test results.
Frequently Asked Questions about Biote
Biote pellets contain either estrogen or testosterone, depending on the results of your lab work. Estrogen pellets contain estradiol, a form of estrogen that can target many of the uncomfortable symptoms associated with an estrogen deficiency. Testosterone pellets contain powdered testosterone and a binding agent known as stearic acid.
Our boutique and personalized spa atmosphere at Buckhead Plastic Surgery focuses on safety and results, creating an environment where our patients feel safe and comfortable. Your provider will numb the insertion site before inserting a pellet, ensuring that you do not experience any pain during the procedure. A small incision is made in the upper buttocks and is covered with a bandage after insertion.
Every patient responds differently to Biote Bioidentical Hormone Optimization pellets. Some factors that can influence how long hormone pellets last include absorption rates, body weight, hormone levels, and gender. However, most hormone pellets will last between three and six months. To maintain adequate hormone levels, your LUX Med Spa provider will recommend returning between two and four times yearly for pellet reinsertion.
Once your hormone pellets are inserted, the pellets will naturally dissolve over time and be absorbed by the body. In the week after your insertion appointment, we recommend taking it easy and abstaining from any strenuous lower-body exercise.
Your LUX Med Spa provider will also give you other post-treatment instructions to help you get the most out of your bioidentical hormone treatment. The time required for symptom relief varies by person, but most patients begin to see results in up to two weeks.
